Quick overview
This page explains Mike Lawrence’s speaking work — the contexts he speaks in, the kinds of topics he explores, and the audiences he helps when organisations invite him to deliver keynotes, workshops, and culture talks. It highlights how his presentations support leaders, teams, and organisations to rethink wellbeing, resilience, and performance in real-world environments.
I work as a workplace mental health speaker, helping organisations cut through surface-level wellbeing and build resilience that works in the real world.
Helping organisations cut through surface-level wellbeing and build resilience that works in the real world.
This speaking work is designed for:
• Executive and senior leadership teams
• People & Culture, Culture & People, and HR teams
• Organisational development and transformation teams
• Professional conferences, sector events, and learning forums
• Managers and teams navigating stress, burnout, or culture change
I’m a Health & Wellbeing Management Consultant, MHFA England Instructor, and court-experienced Expert Witness with over 20 years’ experience working across public, private, and third-sector organisations.
I also bring lived experience. I recovered from a rare pituitary brain tumour, affecting fewer than 1% of the UK population. That experience required navigating cognitive change, uncertainty, loss of confidence, and a fundamental reassessment of identity while still being expected to function and lead at work.
Alongside this, my work as an Expert Witness places me in high-stakes environments where clarity, emotional regulation, ethical judgement, and remaining grounded under scrutiny are essential.
My work sits at the intersection of rare lived experience, high-stakes professional environments, and practical workplace wellbeing. Everything I deliver is grounded, human, and focused on what genuinely helps people perform under pressure.
Audiences don’t just feel inspired — they leave clearer, calmer, and better equipped to perform under pressure the very next day.

Remote and hybrid working – addressing isolation, blurred boundaries, and disengagement in distributed teams
Loneliness at work – recognising hidden isolation and rebuilding connection, belonging, and psychological presence
Supporting others as a manager – equipping untrained managers with the confidence and tools to support wellbeing without becoming therapists
Mental Health First Aid – developing the confidence to have supportive conversations and take appropriate, proportionate action
Equality, diversity, and inclusion – supporting neurodiversity, disability, and difference with clarity, compassion, and confidence
Men’s mental health – creating safer, more honest conversations around pressure, identity, and emotional expression
Coping with change and sustained pressure – maintaining balance and effectiveness in uncertain, high-demand environments
Self-care as a leadership and performance skill – reframing self-care as essential to presence, decision-making, and long-term impact
All sessions are bespoke and shaped around the audience, organisational context, and objectives. I don’t typically deliver purely clinical or diagnostic content.
