For me, this came to a head when I faced a personal health crisis that forced me to rethink everything.
During my recovery from a pituitary tumour, I learned some invaluable lessons about the importance of not only physical recovery but also mental and emotional well-being. Stress, burnout, and lack of self-care had pushed me to the limit, and it became clear that true health isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about building resilience and establishing habits that support your well-being for the long term. That experience inspired me to write my new ebook, Building Lasting Resilience and Self-Care for Long-Term Well-Being.
Why I Wrote This Book
With over 20 years of corporate managerial experience across multiple sectors and industries, I’ve seen firsthand how burnout, stress, and lack of self-care impact individuals and entire teams and organisations. Throughout my career, I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars in mentorship and personal development programs from some of the world’s leading experts. I’ve had the privilege of learning from renowned figures like Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Amy Porterfield, Les Adams, T. Harv Eker, and Bob Proctor, to name a few.
A particularly transformative moment in my journey came from my mentor, Alan Kershaw, a remarkable individual who, sadly, is no longer with us. Alan taught me holistic hypnosis and encouraged me to break with tradition by combining it with all the other modalities I had learned—something that was considered unconventional at the time. His guidance marked a massive turning point in my life and business. He pushed me to trust my unique approach, combining holistic hypnosis with modalities like Tui Na, bodywork, and more. Alan’s encouragement was instrumental in setting up my business and truly embracing my calling.
