Your privacy matters.
At Mike Lawrence Health & Wellbeing Consultancy, we’re committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we use it.
Introduction
At Mike Lawrence Health & Wellbeing Management Consultancy (“we”, “our”, “us”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We provide workplace wellbeing consultancy, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, coaching, and related wellbeing services. By visiting mikelawrence.co.uk or engaging with our services, you agree to the terms in this Privacy Policy.
The Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organisation details, booking and payment information, and any details you share via contact forms, surveys, or event sign-ups, including email preferences or marketing opt-ins.
Information collected automatically
We collect anonymous analytics data from Plausible Analytics (cookie-free website analytics), technical information such as IP address, browser type, and device information, and may use Facebook Pixel or similar tracking for campaign measurement if enabled.
Special category data (sensitive information)
If you take part in MHFA training, wellbeing consultancy, or coaching, we may collect optional information about health, wellbeing, or lived experience. This information is handled strictly confidentially, stored securely, and never shared without consent.
How We Use Your Information
We process data only where lawful and necessary, including to deliver our training, consultancy, and wellbeing services; register learners with MHFA England; communicate with you about events, updates, or resources you’ve requested; improve our website and services through anonymous analytics; and meet legal, tax, and insurance requirements.
If you have consented, we may also send occasional updates, wellbeing tips, or offers via email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us directly.
Lawful Basis for Processing
We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
Contract – to deliver services or process bookings you request
Consent – for marketing, wellbeing newsletters, or sensitive data
Legal obligation – to meet tax or regulatory requirements
Legitimate interests – to maintain business operations and client relationships
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share limited information with trusted third parties who help us deliver our services, including MHFA England (for official learner registration), email marketing providers (e.g. kit.com and Hubspot), payment processors (e.g. Stripe, PayPal), and website or analytics providers (e.g. Plausible Analytics, WordPress hosting). Each third party only receives data necessary to perform its role and is required to comply with data protection law.
Data Storage and Security
We take security seriously. All data is stored securely within the UK or EU, protected by password-protected systems, encryption, and access controls. Sensitive information (such as wellbeing notes or training reflections) is kept confidential and only accessed by authorised personnel.
Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Course and consultancy records are retained for up to seven years for legal and tax compliance, mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe, and wellbeing session notes are securely deleted within agreed retention periods or at the end of service.
Your Data Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent for marketing or sensitive data processing, request a copy of your data (data portability), and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you’re concerned about misuse of your data. You can contact the ICO at www.ico.org.uk.
Cookies and Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies, does not track individual visitors, and stores no personal data. If Facebook or other third-party pixels are used for advertising, consent will be requested in line with UK GDPR.
