In May 2026, Mike attended the 50th Anniversary Garden Party for The King’s Trust at Buckingham Palace.
Having supported The King’s Trust as a business mentor for around 10 years, the event brought together volunteers, mentors, supporters, young people, public figures and guests from across the UK to celebrate the charity’s ongoing impact and contribution.
The afternoon included speeches, live music, networking, and conversations around leadership, equality, resilience, opportunity, and mental health awareness.
A memorable day and a reminder of the importance of mentorship, community support, and creating environments where people feel encouraged to grow and thrive.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Mike Lawrence delivered a workplace wellbeing Lunch & Learn session for NHS Supply Chain, exploring low mood, resilience and maintaining consistency during challenging periods.
The session brought together more than 100 attendees for a practical conversation around emotional wellbeing, pressure, performance and psychological safety at work.
These conversations matter because many people continue carrying pressure quietly while still trying to function professionally every day.
I recently joined the Becoming the Leader in You podcast to explore leadership, resilience, and mental health in real-world settings.
The conversation focused on what happens when pressure builds — and how leaders respond in those moments, not just in theory but in practice.
We covered:
Part of the discussion also touched on my own experience in 2023, undergoing brain surgery to remove a pituitary tumour. It’s something that reshaped how I view pressure, recovery, and sustainable performance.
Throughout the conversation, the focus remained the same — moving beyond awareness to practical, day-to-day leadership.
A practical conversation exploring workplace wellbeing, leadership, pressure, and how organisations can better support people navigating stress, burnout, and emotional fatigue.
